The BASA Manufacturer of the Year recognises outstanding manufacturing organisations that exemplify excellence across the UK adhesives and sealants industry. This is the Association’s most prestigious manufacturing category, celebrating companies that demonstrate sustained business performance, responsible leadership and a positive contribution to the sector as a whole.

Unlike category‑specific accolades, Manufacturer of the Year is about overall excellence. It brings together evidence of performance, culture, innovation and responsibility to identify the manufacturer that best reflects the values, strength and future direction of BASA.

Who should enter?

This category is open to BASA member manufacturers that:

  • Demonstrate sustained business performance and resilience
  • Show clear strategic leadership and vision
  • Operate responsibly, with strong commitments to people, environment and communities
  • Have already evidenced excellence through at least two other BASA category submissions or shortlisting

Manufacturer of the Year is not about a single project or initiative — it is about consistency, leadership and contribution over time.

What the judges are looking for

Your submission will ask you to reflect on:

  • Your business vision, performance and contribution — how your mission and strategy have translated into growth, resilience and positive impact over the past 2–3 years
  • Responsible manufacturing and broader impact — how your organisation demonstrates excellence through its approach to people, sustainability and wider society

The questions are deliberately high‑level and strategic. Judges will already have detailed evidence from your other entries; this is your opportunity to draw that evidence together and explain why your organisation stands out as an exceptional manufacturer overall.

How to prepare your entry

Before completing the application, it may help to:

  • Reflect on your organisation’s mission, values and longer‑term direction
  • Identify examples of sustained performance rather than one‑off successes
  • Consider how your culture, people and environmental approach support business success
  • Think about how your company contributes to the strength and reputation of the UK adhesives and sealants industry

This category is about well‑rounded excellence. Clear, honest reflection that connects strategy to outcomes will be far more compelling than detailed repetition of evidence already submitted elsewhere.
