The National Apprenticeship Service Intermediary Team are pleased to announce that the National Apprenticeship Awards 2018 are open for entries until 25th May.

The National Apprenticeship Awards, now in their fifteenth year, showcase the diverse range of sectors engaged with apprenticeships and celebrate outstanding apprentices, employers and those individuals who go above and beyond to champion apprenticeships.

 Categories:

The award categories that will be open to apprentice employers and apprentices include:

Employer of the Year categories:

-           SME of the Year: 1 – 249 employees

-           Large Employer of the Year: 250 – 4,999 employees

-           Macro Employer of the Year: 5,000+ employees                                                  

Apprentice of the Year categories:

-           Intermediate Level (level 2)    

-           Advanced Level (level 3)

-           Higher or Degree Level (level 4 or higher)

Apprenticeship Champion of the Year

Recognises individuals who go ‘above and beyond’ to champion apprenticeships.

 

A new special award for 2018 is The Recruitment Excellence Award.  The winner will be selected from Employer of the Year award entries, and will be awarded to an organisation that has recruited a diverse and high quality apprenticeship workforce.

A new award category, The Rising Star Award will recognise apprentices that have made impressive progress in their career to date, and have the potential to go even further. Apprentices will be nominated for this award by their employer, and the selection of the national winner will include a public vote.

Another new award for 2018 is the Special Recognition Award, which will be awarded to an individual who has made a special contribution to the promotion and delivery of apprenticeships. The winner of this category will be selected by the National Apprenticeship Service.

Webinars:

As in previous years, the National Apprenticeship Service Intermediary Team are offering a series of webinars to help explain the application process.

There are two types of webinar available, and both are available on various dates. Each webinar will last approximately 30 minutes.

·       National Apprenticeship Awards 2018 Employer Awards and Rising Star Award Information Webinar  

·       National Apprenticeship Awards 2018 Apprentice of the Year and Apprenticeship Champion Information Webinar

The webinars are presented by the Awards Quality Assurance Manager working on behalf of the National Apprenticeship Service. Delegates will find out about the entry process, understand what evidence and metrics to include and find out about the additional support and guidance available. There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions they may have via the online chat option.
