In recent news, UK REACH authority the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) selected two substances for inclusion in the national authorisation list, deferring its view on ten others it prioritised for assessment in the coming year in one of the clearest signs of the regulator’s divergence from Echa.
The HSE’s first draft recommendation for the Annex 14 list comprises only two of seven substances ECHA proposed in April for addition to the authorisation list under EU REACH, which the UK’s independent law broadly mirrors. Only disodium octaborate and dicyclohexyl phthalate (DCHP) are included in the first draft recommendation.
