Covid-19 and manufacturing - Letter to the sector from the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial

24 December 2020

Please find attached a letter from the Secretary of State on recent developments around Covid-19 and continued recognition of the key nature of the manufacturing sectors, including chemicals and plastics.

In respect to the tightening tier restrictions in some parts of the country, the attached letter from the RT HON Alok Sharma, Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy makes it clear that as before, the manufacturing sector remains essential, and therefore should remain open and operational to continue delivering the vital products and services which we all depend on. He also re-iterates that where it is essential to travel between tiers to get to your work or for the purposes of carrying out your work, you are able to do so.
