New approach methodologies (NAMs) - replacement technologies (full and partial) for use in assessing chemical or drug toxicity - hold great promise in providing useful information for chemical hazard and risk assessment. This session led by BASA's Consultant Caroline Raine will talk about how the EU’s decision to ban animal testing for toxicity testing, positively influenced the pace of developing New Approach Methodologies (NAMs). This development also supports replacing animal methods in other forms of risk assessment (RA), such as for oral-toxicity testing and today we will look at where the EU are in the development of this replacement.
The BASA Secretariat including the BASA consultants hold a 30-minute clinic every Friday at 10:00 to present important regulatory and business information and guidance and to give BASA members an opportunity to ask questions. We may be unable to answer the questions live - but all questions will be resolved after consultation with the relevant government contacts.
